Located approximately a 40-minute drive southeast of Nashville, the city of Murfreesboro boasts a number of museums, historic sites and annual festivals that entice visitors throughout the year. Stones River National Battlefield is a 600-acre (243-ha) historic site that witnessed a Civil War battle between the Confederate and Union armies in the mid-1800s.
